Women and girls frequently carry a disproportionate burden associated with inadequate access to water.

RWDF-Liberia therefore seeks to mainstream gender equality and social inclusion throughout project development.

This includes ensuring that women, youth, persons with disabilities and vulnerable community members are appropriately represented in consultation, decision-making and community water-management structures.

Infrastructure will, where feasible, incorporate accessibility, privacy, safety and gender-responsive design considerations.
